What are the different types of walkers/rollators ?
There are several types of walkers/rollators. The names are often used interchangeably. The primary differentiator is the number of wheels. The rollators have 3 to 4 wheels. The rollators with 4 wheels typically comes with a seat. A Walker on the other hand has two wheels in the front, and tennis balls on the back end.And typically no seat. The one other differentiator is the height of the walker. There are upright walkers that allow you to stand up straight, as oppossed to bending slightly forward for regular walkers
Should I rent or buy ?
The main deciding factor is the length of time you rae going to need to use the walker. If you are going on a short visit for about 1-2 weeks, or need one at home for that period of time it might be better to rent. Its important to know that rollators are prone to damage during travel, so most of the times it better to rent at the destination location. However, if you are going to need to it for over 2 weeks you are better off simply purchasing one at home or at the location you are visiting. The other important point to consider when purchasing the walker/rollator is how and where will you dispose it once you are done using it. Last but not the least, when you purchase online, you might get a good deal, but its important to think about the return process when it is defective. Do you have the time or the energy
